CIT Welcomes New Board Members

Center for Independent Thought is pleased to announce the addition of two directors, Scott Barbee and Michael Ricci.

Scott and Mike bring a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to CIT, and they are committed to our mission of promoting individual liberty, free enterprise, and limited government. Their unique insights and expertise will be invaluable as we endeavor to reach more young people.

Scott Barbee is owner and president of Aegis Financial Corporation in McLean, Va., and has managed its mutual funds there since 1998. Barbee is a director of the Atlas Network, Foundation for Economic Education, Young Voices, Iron Light Labs and the Donald & Paula Smith Family Foundation. He is a chartered financial analyst and holds bachelor’s degrees in both mechanical engineering and economics from Rice University and received an MBA in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Michael Ricci is President of Stossel TV, which he created with John Stossel in 2017. He is a 20 year veteran of Fox News, the top rated cable news channel. Michael rose through the ranks at Fox, starting as a fact writer and ending as an Executive Producer. Along the way he produced top rated hard news and opinion shows. Michael was Executive Producer of John Stossel’s weekly FBN show and quarterly long form specials on Fox, including “Policing America: Security vs Liberty” and “Censored in America." Michael Ricci is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University.

"CIT will be a stronger organization because of the addition of Scott and Mike, and we look forward to working closely with them," said Rob Schimenz, CIT president.
