A John Stossel Town Hall: The Exciting Intersection of Neuroscience and Education
Stossel in the Classroom, a Center for Independent Thought program, will host a town hall on Wednesday, April 19, featuring Oakland University Distinguished Professor Barbara Oakley and John Stossel.
The two will discuss how teachers can dramatically improve their students' abilities to learn by using practical insights from neuroscientific research. Barbara will help teachers make slight but powerful tweaks that will enhance their teaching — and their students' learning.
Here’s what we’ll cover:
Applying how the brain processes information to teaching practices
Practical strategies for helping students develop essential learning skills
Techniques for helping students retain information
